Cultura Cali

This project was part of the CA 355 beginner production course that I took as a junior at UW-Madison. One of our 3 big projects for this course consisted of creating a “doc-mini” or short documentarian-esque film. With help from a couple of classmates, I connected with and interviewed Gerardo Hernandez, the owner of Madison-based food truck, Cultura Cali.

We talked about what it’s like to own a food truck, his process for getting the food truck up and running, his life narrative, his goals, and all things in between. In addition to interviewing Hernandez, I also took over the role of editor for the doc-mini.

I learned a lot from this project in a short span of time, and I had a great time making it all happen. The experience I gained from this project will prove applicable to the post-production endeavors that I embark on post-graduation
