Last Christmas

This narrative short film offered classmates of Communication Arts 355 and I the chance to put a sinister spin on increasing demands to prepare for Christmas earlier each November. As part of the production for this Christmas-themed horror short, I assisted in light/camera set-up and shooting.

I attained props for the shot and sought out stock SFX/music options to consider in post-production. I took over the role of editor for this project, and I used Adobe Premiere Pro to facilitate the editing process. In retrospect, I had a ton of fun with this project.

I think it showed me a bit of what it’s like to work on a production set and orchestrate the planning needed to pull off a successful film. In addition, this project allowed me to gain more practice with camerawork. Prolonged practice has made me more confident in all stages (i.e., pre, production, and post) of the production process. We used a Panasonic Lumix GH5 to complete this shoot.
